The Lockport Township High School District 205 Board of Education held a Special Board Meeting on Monday, October 27, 2025, to review the 2025 Annual Academic Achievement Report, which provides a comprehensive overview of student performance and academic outcomes during the 2024–2025 school year.
The purpose of this report is to help the Board and community understand the multiple measures used to evaluate student success, beyond those included in the Illinois School Report Card. The report highlights additional performance data aligned with District and Superintendent goals, offering a fuller picture of student learning, growth, and readiness.

Overview of Key Findings
The report is organized into five key sections:
1. Academic Excellence & Post-Secondary Readiness
69% of the Class of 2025 met state GPA standards for college and career readiness.
19% of students achieved a GPA above 4.0.
Graduation rate remains strong, with over 97% of seniors earning diplomas in 2025.
2. College Readiness
Increased Advanced Placement (AP) participation, with 80% of AP exam takers earning a passing score.
AP participation among low-income students has grown significantly (a 609% increase in exams taken since 2001).
LTHS is the #1 dual credit partner with Joliet Junior College out of 26 participating high schools.
925 students earned dual credit, saving families an estimated $407,925.
3. Expanded Opportunities & Programs
Over 300 students completed internships or career-exploration experiences.
Students in the Career & Community Connections Program (a vocational program for persons with disabilities ages 18-21) achieved important independent living milestones, including driver’s license attainment.
Students with IEPs are demonstrating strong post-secondary outcomes.
4. Community & Career Connections
All students graduate having completed at least 40 hours of community service.
Over 2,300 students participated in two or more sports or extracurricular activities in the past year.
5. Standardized Testing: ACT Data
LTHS students consistently outperformed the state average in all tested areas.
The 2024–2025 Illinois School Report Card is embargoed until October 30, 2025. The Superintendent will formally present the School Report Card at the November 17, 2025, Board of Education meeting.
