Social Studies Department

Social Studies Department

The Lockport Township High School Social Studies Department believes there are many ways to become an active, thoughtful participant in a democratic society. One way for a student to develop into this active, knowledgeable, critical, fair-minded citizen is through the study of the Social Studies. The Department believes that History and Geography must form the basic core of knowledge. In addition, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, and Anthropology are all necessary to prepare our students as members in their local, state, national, and international societies. With a strong Social Studies background, our students should use their knowledge to apply their skills and values for the good of mankind.
