LTHS moves up on list of top high school in the nation
Lockport Township High School District 205 has moved up the list after once again being ranked as one of the best high schools in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report.
In its second top national high schools list, U.S. News and World Report ranked LTHS at 64th in the state of Illinois, which is up from 71st rank in 2017.
The ranking is based on students’ performance on state assessments and how well the high school prepares students for college.
“This index serves as a measure of the rigorous curriculum offered within the school, which impacts the entire school environment,” said Assistant Superintendent Brett Gould. “Our students and teachers are the core of our success.”
Lockport Township High School District 205 has continually been included in top national high school lists, including the annual Top 9% of all high schools in the state by Newsweek.
“Our high rank in the state of Illinois reflects the dedicated work to give the best opportunities to our students,” Gould said. “And without the efforts of our faculty, feeder schools and families, we wouldn’t be so successful.”
