• Zachary Lammers Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship has been established to commemorate Zack Lammers, an LTHS Class of 2005 alumnus, who at the age of 27 tragically died from an accidental fall on August 4, 2014. He left an incredible legacy at LTHS, both academically and athletically, as well as one of giving back to the school and community that supported him in his youth. Zack is remembered, loved, and missed by so many.

A gifted student-athlete who graduated at the top of his class, Zack was a shining force both in the classroom and on the athletic field. His academic accolades include having been an Illinois State Scholar, Top Ten Percent member (4.6 GPA), and included in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Zack suffered several injuries while participating in sports and overcame these adversities. He continued to excel by becoming a three-time State Champion—in football in 2002 and 2003 and in baseball in 2005.

Zack’s childhood dream of attending an Ivy League school while continuing to play football became a reality when he earned early admission to Brown University, where he was recruited to play football and became a member of the 2005 Football Ivy League Championship team. After graduating in 2009 with a degree in economics, Zack began a career in the financial industry, working in New York and Chicago. Above all, he was an exceptional leader in every sense of the word, who led by example with integrity and character and exemplified passion, dedication, and perseverance, treating everyone with respect and admiration. Zack set a standard for everyone around him by the way he lived his life. The recipient of the Zachary
Lammers Memorial Scholarship will embody all of these characteristics.
