School nurses address major and minor health concerns experienced by students. They provide basic first aid as needed, preventative care, medication administration, vision and hearing screenings, and health education. Also, the nurses maintain records for physicals and immunizations to ensure a safe environment in the school system.

LTHS employs a certified school nurse and two registered nurses.

  • Health & Dental Requirements

All students must submit proof of compliance with physical examination and immunization requirements.  All physical forms and immunization records must be uploaded online or submitted to the Nurse’s Office before August 1 to ensure students are able to begin school on the first day of attendance.  A sports physical does not meet the physical examination requirements for incoming freshman students. Students will not receive a course schedule and will not be able to attend school until all required health information is on file.

Transfer students:  Transfer students must present a health exam that was completed within one year prior to entry into an Illinois school. The transferring health/physical exam must also include the dates of all previous immunizations since birth.

New for Incoming Freshman:  Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, all students entering high school as freshmen will also need to submit proof of a completed dental examination.
