Hybrid In-person Learning
  • Transitioning from Hybrid to Full Daily Attendance

On Monday, April 12, LTHS will resume full daily attendance. All students will be on campus on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday will continue the shortened, remote schedule that has been followed all year. Please note that classes begin at 7:50 a.m. and dismissal is 2:03 p.m. at East Campus and 2:02 p.m. Central Campus.  See Calendar and Schedules for details, as well as the revised Frequently Asked Questions.

Families are reminded to contact the Nurses Office if their child has COVID-19, symptoms, has been exposed, or has tested positive. Prompt notification helps LTHS track the health of its student body and staff to keep everyone safe. For more information, click here

The CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health no longer recommend that schools conduct daily temperature screening of students. Accordingly, LTHS is transitioning to parental certification of students’ daily health. The week of April 6, parents/guardians received via email a COVID-19 Self-Certification and Verification Form. By submitting this one-time electronic form, parents/guardians affirm that by sending their students on District transportation and/or to school on any given day, they certify and verify that their student has received a daily symptom screening and is not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

In anticipation of increased traffic in and around the campuses beginning on April 12, LTHS has arranged for alternative locations for families to drop off students. At Central Campus, freshmen can be dropped off at the Athletic Field parking lot located at Division Street and Garfield Avenue. Families dropping off students at East Campus may do so at the southwest portion of the Walmart parking lot. Parents/Guardians may still drop their students off at the school but are reminded to remain clear of the bus lanes on campus.

For information on parking passes for seniors and juniors, rates, and prorated refunds, please see Transportation & Parking. There will be 120 spaces of overflow parking available in a designated area of the Walmart Parking lot. LTHS staff members will be on site to assist students.
