LTHS ranks in the Top 9 Percent of all high schools in the nation, according to the Washington Post, which ranks schools for effectively preparing students for college.
The district’s composite ACT score of 22.7 under standard testing conditions has steadily increased for the past six years and more than 130 students from the Class of 2013 were named Illinois State Scholars. Six of those students were named commended students in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Competition.
District 205 currently offers more than 22 AP courses, and more than 50 students from the Class of 2013 were named Advanced Placement Scholars.
District 205 recently embarked on an instructional technology initiative called “Anywhere, Anytime, Teaching & Learning”, which focuses on teaching 21st Century skills and the ability to read for understanding, analyze, synthesize and create using current and emerging technologies. By strengthening students’ 21st Century skills and providing opportunities for real‐world application of technology, the district provides students with the skills necessary to be College and Career Ready.
