Revised Public Health Guidance for Schools
On March 9, 2021, the Illinois School Board of Education (ISBE) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) released Revised COVID-19 Guidelines for public schools.
These guidelines redefined the physical distancing required in classrooms and the capacity limits for spaces such as cafeterias. The new guidelines emphasize returning students to in-person learning as much as possible. They also articulate the procedures schools would have to follow to permit all students to return to campus for daily in-person learning.
Lockport Township High School District 205 Board of Education and Administration have reviewed these revised guidelines and have determined to move to a schedule with full student attendance on April 12.
