Additional Academic Support
The current school schedule affords teachers more time in the afternoons to assist students who may be struggling. Students experiencing academic challenges are encouraged to take advantage of the resources available to them.
Assistance and Connection Time
Between 1:00-3:00, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, teachers are available to respond to student/parent emails and phone calls, conference with individuals and small groups, hold virtual meetings with students, connect with colleagues, and make shifts in instructional planning. Parents and students wishing to connect with a teacher at this time should email their teacher directly.
Teachers may schedule sessions with students during Assistance and Connection Time. Each session is 20 minutes in length to afford students the opportunity to work with as many teachers as needed. Teachers and students may meet for a longer period of time if necessary. The students will see the scheduled session in their Google Classroom. Parents are able to see that their child is scheduled for additional assistance through their Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The session will appear in the student's class schedule.
Kitchen Table Tutoring is now available from 3:00-4:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday. Students can join virtual tutoring sessions for assistance in English, Math, Science, and general counseling.
For assistance with academic, social, or emotional issues, students can find resources or request an appointment with a Guidance Counselor or Social Worker by visiting Wellness and Support.
