• Optional PSAT/NMSQT for Juniors

  • On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 7:50 a.m., Lockport Township High School will offer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) to any interested junior student in the 2020/21 school year. The PSAT is a multiple-choice assessment of verbal, mathematic, and writing skills that gives students an opportunity to experience taking a college readiness test. In addition, the test identifies students who might benefit from advanced coursework.

  • Junior PSAT/NMSQT Registration

    For the Optional Junior 2020 PSAT/NMSQT, students at Lockport Township High School will be registering online. This registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer with internet access.

    Online Exam registration will begin on Wednesday, September 2nd. In order to register, students should click the link provided on the LTHS website or visit TotalRegistration.net to register. To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Please be sure to have a debit or credit card available before beginning registration.

    Here are the important dates for the registration process:

      • Wednesday, September 2nd- Registration begins
      • Tuesday, September 15th at 12pm- Regular registration closes
      • Wednesday, Oct 14, 2018 at 7:50 AM- PSAT TEST at CENTRAL CAMPUS

  • By taking this optional PSAT/NMSQT®, your child will have access to resources that will help prepare him/her for the future. These resources include:

    • Feedback from AP Potential, which gives the student the opportunity to see what Advanced Placement/Honors classes in which your student has potential to succeed.

    • A list of personalized careers and potential college majors based on the preferences indicated on the PSAT/NMSQT®.

    • An online score report, including projected SAT® score ranges, state percentiles, and the ability to sort answer explanations by difficulty and question type.

    • A customized SAT® study plan including a review of results, SAT® practice questions, and personalized skill improvement ideas through Khan Academy.

Optional PSAT/NMSQT for Juniors
  • The PSAT/NMSQT also serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). Top performing juniors nationally may be eligible for money through National Merit, National Achievement, or National Hispanic Scholarship funds. Finally, taking the PSAT/NMSQT as a precursor to the SAT®, which is the official Illinois state test that will be given to junior students in April 2021, will help to prepare your student for taking the SAT.

    PSAT/NMSQT registration is available from September 2nd through September 15th at a fee of $25. Sign-up on Total Registration does not necessarily secure your seat. Health guidelines and staffing will determine how many students we are able to accommodate. You will be notified by October 7th of your confirmed seat at the test. There will be no late registrations this year. Transportation will also be provided. Students can register for the PSAT/NMSQT by using the online registration page, which can be accessed via the school’s website. Students will have the option of paying the $25 test fee online during registration.
