    Course Description: This course provides basic instruction in the traditional areas of color and painting, ceramics, and other three-dimensional design experiences including computer units on art research and drawing with the computer. This course is strongly recommended for all students entering the art program. This class is intended to develop the creativity in each student, cultivate the imagination, and develop high-level thinking and self-expression. Each student will be expected to demonstrate understanding of and proficiency in the elements and principles of design, two and three-dimensional design, eye-hand coordination, terminology, and a familiarity of techniques, concepts and materials.
