    Course Description: This course provides students with a basic introduction to the visual arts and is strongly recommended for all students entering the art program. It provides instruction in the traditional areas of drawing and design. This class is intended to develop creativity, cultivate the imagination, and develop higher-level thinking and self-expression. Each student will be expected to demonstrate understanding and proficiency in the elements and principles of design, two-dimensional design, eye-hand coordination, terminology, as well as a familiarity of techniques, concepts and materials.
