    Course Description: A study of the social, economic, and political development of the United States from Imperialism to the present day. Emphasis will be placed on developing historical themes, critical thinking, and reading and writing. Topics will include Imperialism, the World at War, the Great Depression and New Deal, the Cold War, the struggle for Civil Rights, conflict in Vietnam, and present day tensions in Middle East. This course is a required second semester course for Junior students.
