Course Description: This is a one-semester course designed to introduce students to the scientific study of society and human behavior. Students will learn to think with a sociological perspective through discovery, questioning, and analysis of social issues. The course illustrates how the environment we live in has a profound influence on how we think, feel, and behave. Topics to be discussed are culture, behavior norms, race, gender, social class, socialization, deviant behavior, crime, and the criminal justice system.
