This website is our effort to present a clear understanding of the problems faced by our growing student population and the strained resources in which they operate. We will do our best to provide you with an objective overview of the problem, the solution, and provide information.

What we need to do to solve the problem

To counter the effects of over-crowding in our high school population, the District seeks to construct a cost effective and competitive high school campus on the District-owned land on Cedar Road near 151st Street. This campus will accommodate 2,700 students with the ability to expand to 3,600 students. Learn more>

What it means for students and residents

With the explosive growth our community has experienced the last number of years, LTHS District 205 has enacted a number of extraordinary measures to see that their obligation to provide students with a quality education in a safe environment remains fulfilled. All of these band-aid measures have been an effort to counter overcrowding in both the Central and East campuses. The next counter measure approved by the Board of Education is a switch to a Mandatory Split Schedule in the 2009-10 school year.
