Attached is an overview of the history of District 205 and events that have led up to the 2008 referendum.
(Timeline)Detachment:
Concerns have been raised in the past that after a new campus is built, Homer Glen would try and break away from District 205 and form its own district. Grounds for this fear stem, in part, from the Romeoville/Lockport split that happened in 1971. The laws for forming a new district have changed quite a bit in the last 34 years, thus making the reality of such a break among the communities comprising District 205 nearly impossible.Hyperlink: Detachment History
