What is ParentConnect?

ParentConnect is an easy, convenient way to monitor your child’s academic progress online, at anytime.

Through ParentConnect you can easily communicate with teachers through e-mail, or receive automatic e-mail notification of tardies, unexcused absences, failing grades, or discipline incidents.

You can view your child’s information after completing the registration process.

Why use ParentConnect?

ParentConnect allows you to:

  • View assignments and assignment grades
  • View quarter and semester grades

  • Examine demographic information
  • E-mail your child’s teacher

How current is the information on ParentConnect?
The ParentConnect web site is updated every night. This will give you the latest available information each morning.

Is there a fee to use ParentConnect?
No.ParentConnect is free to all users.

How do I access ParentConnect?
The ParentConnect web site may be accessed from any computer with Internet access. You must use Internet Explorer or Netscape to access the ParentConnect web site. Go to www.lths.org, click on ParentConnect, click on Login, and login, using your assigned user ID and password.

How can I get a User ID and password to view my child’s data?
You may download a Registration Form from the LTHS web site. Go to the top of this page and click on Registration Form. Fill out the form, print the form, and take the completed form along with your picture ID (Driver's License) to the Information Technology Office at East Campus, or the Guidance Office at East or Central Campus.

If you are unable to visit school during the day, you may make a copy of your ID and mail it, send it to school with your student, or fax it to Kim Werth or Sue Paulson at 815-588-8319. Please be sure to include your completed Registration Form.

How may user ID’s can my family request?
One login account may be issued to each family. Both parents may use the same login account. If parents are separated or divorced each parent may request a seperate login account, provided there are no court orders or legal restrictions prohibiting access to the parent. If a child lives with a guardian, the guardian must have legal right to access the child’s record. 

What if I do not have a computer at home?
ParentConnect may be accessed from the library, community center, work, school, church, or any place that has Internet access.

What if I forget my password?
Please contact the ParentConnect Administrator. You will be asked to provide some information. Your password will then be emailed to you.

How do I change my password?
Go to the settings tab and change your password. Make your new password eight characters in length. You may use alpha and/or numeric characters, but do not use symbols or spaces. Please note that you cannot change your user ID. Only your password can be changed.

My e-mail address has changed. Do I need to call the office?
No. Log in to ParentConnect, and click on Settings. Type your new e-mail address in the box below “Primary E-mail Address”. Please send an e-mail to the ParentConnect Administrator as well so that we may update school records.

What do I do if I get “locked” out of my ParentConnect account?
If you have three failed attempts inputting your user name and password, the system will lock and automatically reset itself after 15 minutes. There is no need to contact anyone about the problem.

What can I do if my child’s information is incorrect?
If the grade book information is incorrect, you may use the e-mail link to send and e-mail message to the teacher. If student information is incorrect, please contact the Registrar's Office:

What precautions have been taken to ensure data security?
The standard security alert features will encrypt data while it goes across the network. These are the same features used in the banking industry.

What prevents a stranger from getting a user ID to view my child’s data?
When requesting a user ID and password, the parent/guardian must go to the school and provide proper identification to the school contact. The school will verify the parent/guardian relationship and the right to access the student’s record. This is the same protocol currently used for requesting student records.

How do I receive e-mail alerts of discipline incidents, unexcused absences, tardies, or failing scores?
Go to the settings tab and mark your preferences.

I received an e-mail alert on my student’s attendance. I need clarification.
If the student is a freshman please call the Central Campus Attendance Office, at 815-588-8220. If the student is a sophomore, junior, or senior please call the East Campus Attendance Office, at 815-588-8320.

I received an e-mail alert regarding discipline. I need clarification.
If the student is a freshman please call the Central Campus Dean’s Office, at 815-588-8230. If the student is a sophomore, junior, or senior please call the East Campus Deans’ Office, at 815-588-8330.

I clicked on the grades tab, but I only see last quarter’s classes and grades, how do I find current grades?
The grades tab refers to the last report card grades. If you wish to view assignment grades, click on Assignments, and then click on Schedule. You will see the student's schedule and cumulative grades. To view all of the assignments for a particular class, click on the cumulative grade for that class. You will be able to view all of the assignments for that class, along with the points earned/points possible for each assignment.

Is the GPA (Grade Point Average) and Class rank based on the weighted GPA (Grade Point Average)?
Yes, it is.

Why is the GPA in ParentConnect different from the GPA on my child's Transcript?
The GPA showing in ParentConnect is a semester GPA, while the GPA on your child's transcript is a cumulative GPA. If you need a current cumulative GPA, please contact the Registrar.

How do I log off of ParentConnect?
Closing your browser will automatically log you off of the ParentConnect system.

How do I obtain “Official” school records?
The information provided on ParentConnect is not to be considered official school records. To obtain Official School Records, please contact the school registrar:

I have a student that is not on my original account. How do I add the student to my account?
You can download the Registration Form from the LTHS web site. Go to the top of this page and click on Registration Forms. After filling out the form you may bring the form to the East Campus Guidance Office, along with a photo ID. You may also fax the form to the ParentConnect Administrator. If you chose to fax the Registration form you must also fax a copy of your photo ID. Your request will be processed in 24-48 hours.
