Abby Foundation Academic Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for students attending a 4-year college or $500 scholarship for students attending a 2-year community college
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be a female high school senior
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
- Submit a 250 word essay; “Why this scholarship is important to me and what are my career goals?”
- Submit an official high school transcript

Amvets Scholarship: Offering multiple scholarships
Criteria for applicant:
- For scholarship information and applications please access the Amvets web site at www.ilamvets.org or call (800) 638-8387
- The website has a list of all the scholarships offered, eligibility requirements, and all other pertinent information for each scholarship
- Each applicant should ensure that the application is completed and all supporting documentation required for the requested scholarship is submitted

Canals & Trails Credit Union Scholarship: Two $500 scholarships plus a credit union savings account with a $100 balance will be opened for all scholarship recipients
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be a high school senior
- Maintain a G.P.A. average of a “B”
- Attend a 2-year or 4-year College, University or Trade School
- Write a two page, double-spaced essay regarding the advantages of Credit Union membership versus a bank and how they can better utilize their Credit Union now as they plan to enter college

Lockport Township High School Foundation Connor Peter Sullivan Memorial Scholarship: $500 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be a graduating senior of LTHS who is interested in pursuing a career in education
- G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher
- Should be a participant in co-curricular and/or community activities
- Enrolled at an accredited college or university
- Submit a short, three-to-five page, essay describing your interest in the field of education or expressing that teachers are role models and explaining who is their role model and why. Must be typewritten.

Lockport Township High School Foundation Dick Dystrup "Be Positive" Girls Basketball Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be a graduating senior of LTHS senior member of the LTHS Girls Basketball Team who will be going on to college to play basketball
- G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher
- Member of the LTHS Girls Basketball Team for three to four years
- Is a positive role model and demonstrates leadership

Lockport Township High School Foundation Diane Meader Schenk Commemorative Scholarship: $1,500 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be a graduating LTHS high school senior
- Must be an active member of the LTHS Marching Band and obtain the written endorsement of the Marching Band Director
- Submit an essay, 250 words or less; “Why music is important to me and what are my goals in furthering interest in the LTHS Marching Band to those who are about to enter High School next year.”

Dahlquist and Lutzow Architects Scholarship: $500 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- A high school senior entering a college or university accredited Architectural program
- Submit project(s) or portfolio which demonstrate the student’s ability to understand and recognize the basic principles of architecture
- Submission of an essay in which the student describes their interaction with the architectural space identified on the application
- Submission of the application, along with a photo headshot of the applicant

Endwood Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship and three $500 scholarships
Criteria for applicant:
- Preference given to students pursuing studies in Engineering, Physical Science, or Mathematics
- Demonstrate a need for financial assistance
- Have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0
- Demonstrate positive leadership qualities both in and out of the classroom
- Submit a 250 word essay describing yourself, your goals for the future and how you arrived at this point in your life. Submit this essay in your own handwriting.
- Submit a resume and two letters of recommendation

Francis H. Gerrity Scholarship: $750 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be a graduating LTHS senior who is pursuing a career in education enrolling in a college or university
- Must be a graduate of Lockport School District 91 (Milne Grove/Kelvin Grove)
- Submit a letter of recommendation from an individual outside of Lockport Township High School District 205
- Submit an essay of 500 words of less on how a particular teacher influenced your decision to become an educator

Fred R. Linder Law Enforcement College Scholarship: $500 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Submit a resume
- Submit two letters of recommendation by two different people, such as a teacher, counselor, employer, clergy member, etc.
- Submit a short essay, 250 words, describing yourself and why you have chosen a career in law enforcement. Submit this essay in your own handwriting.
- Submit an official high school transcript

Global Citizen Award:
Criteria for applicant:
- Applicant must have studied a foreign language for four years.
- Applicant must have an overall G.P.A. of 3.0, and a Foreign
Language G.P.A. of 3.5.
- Applicant must be an active member of a Foreign Language/Global
Citizen based club.
- Submit a 200-400 word essay, essay topics are included on the
application.

Homer Township Chamber of Commerce Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Any graduating high school student who resides in Homer Township or whose parent or guardian is a Homer Township Chamber member
- Submit a 500 word double spaced typed essay on “How has social media marketing (Facebook and Twitter) impacted advertising and marketing for businesses and what do you predict technology will bring in the future?”

JJC Foundation - Dr. John & Melanie Peterson Academic Scholarship: This scholarship is for a female Lockport High School athlete, who participates in athletics at Joliet Junior College. The scholarship is for two consecutive years (four semesters). The student must attend JJC immediately upon graduating from Lockport.
Criteria for applicant:
- Award amount is determined annually
- Award goes to a female Lockport High School athlete

JJC Foundation Scholarship: Tuition and fees for the academic year, up to a maximum of $2,160, including the following summer semester.
Criteria for applicant:
- Incoming freshman
- G.P.A. of 3.25 or above high school G.P.A.

- Required documents include a high school transcript with a minimum of 21 on the ACT

Karen Bell Doehring Scholarship: $250 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- G.P.A. of 3.0 or above in Family and Consumer Science courses, and a G.P.A. of 2.5 or above academic average while in high school.
- Submit a 250 word essay describing yourself, your goals for the future, and how you arrived at this point in your life.
- Submit two letters of recommendation.
- Applicant must have completed two or more courses in Family and Consumer Sciences at the high school level.
- Applicant must be planning to enroll in an institution of learning for the purpose of pursuing higher education in a Family and Consumer Science.
The deadline to apply is April 2, 2010.
Kevin Killmer Memorial Scholarship “Spirit Award”: $1,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Must participate in two or more sports for all four years
- Be a participant or a spectator in other extra-curricular activities and sports
- Have a G.P.A. of 2.6 or higher
- Submit a 250 word essay on “What will a higher education mean to me?”
- Submit two letters of recommendation
- Limited to students who will not be receiving full academic or athletic scholarships

Lockport Rotary Club College Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Submit an essay explaining the circumstances for any special financial need
- Submit two letters of recommendation from adults
- Submit an official high school transcript
- Submit an essay that answers the question; "How will furthering your education assist you in serving others in the future?"
- Provide resume information, which includes school experience, out of school activities, recognitions and awards

Criteria for applicant:
- Rank in the upper 25 percent of your class
- Enrollment at a 2-year or 4-year college or university

- Submit a 250 word essay describing yourself, your goals for the future, and how you arrived at this point in your life
- Current copy of your family’s complete federal income tax return

Lockport Township High School Foundation Illinois Dollars for Scholars College Scholarship: $500 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Rank in the upper 25 percent of your class
- Enrollment at a 2-year or 4-year college or university
- Submit two letters of recommendation; one from a faculty member, and one from a community leader
- Submit a 250 word essay describing yourself, your goals for the future, and how you arrived at this point in your life
- Current copy of your family's complete federal income tax return

Richard C. Dystrup Lions Club Scholarship: Two $1,000 scholarships
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be planning to work in the field of medicine majoring in the areas of the blind and/or the hearing impaired, preferred, but not mandatory
- Must be high school seniors who are residents of Lockport Township High School District 205
- Submit two letters of reference, one personal and one familiar with your academic ability
- Submit an essay about “Why I am interested in a medical (blind/hearing impaired) career?” Type or print this essay on 8 1/2 x 11 white paper using black ink.
- Submit an official high school transcript

Lockport Township Government Scholarship: Four $1,000 scholarships
Criteria for applicant:
- Must be a resident of Lockport Township
- Have a G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher
- Submit an official high school transcript
- Submit a resume
- Submit two letters of recommendation
- Submit an essay on “What does a college education mean to me?”
Students will be requested to appear for a personal interview if a finalist.

Lockport Township High School Foundation Scholarship: $2,500 scholarship - Eight scholarships will be given
Criteria for applicant:
- Class rank in the upper 25% of your class
- Enrollment at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university
- Submit two letters of recommendation; one from a faculty member, and one from a community leader
- Submit a 250 word essay describing yourself, your goals for the future, and how you arrived at this point in your life
- Demonstrate the need for financial aid

Lockport Township High School Foundation Kevin Benes Memorial Scholarship: $1,500 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Submit a resume with the following information:
Work experience (jobs with or without pay),
School experiences (athletics, clubs, etc.),
Out-of-school activities (church, scouts, etc.),
Awards you have received,
Hobbies and special interests.
- Write a short essay (250 words) describing yourself, the hardship you have experienced and what it takes to triumph over an adverse situation.
- Submit one letter of recommendation

Lockport Township High School Foundation Nicholas A. Morice Award & Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- The nominating letter must include the complete name, address, and phone of the nominee and nominator
- The nominating letter must include the sport/school activities that the nominee participated in
- The nominating letter must also include additional home, church, and community involvement
- Include a maximum of two pages describing acts of service performed by the nominee to improve or enhance the quality of life for a child or group of children either locally or in the community at large

Lockport Township High School Foundation Profit Systems, Inc. Scholarship: $500 scholarship - Emphasis will be placed on selecting a student who is able to demonstrate financial need.
Criteria for applicant:
- Class rank in the upper 25% of your class
- Attendance at a two-year or four-year college/university or a trade or technical school
- Two letters of recommendation, one from a faculty member and one from a community leader
- A short essay (250 words) describing yourself, your goals for the future, and how you arrived at this point in your life
- A current copy of your family's complete federal income tax return (i.e., Form 1040, Form 1040A, or Form 1040EZ) Failure to submit all income tax returns from both parents/guardians is cause for disqualification unless disclosed by applicant with an appropriate explanation.

Lockport Township High School Foundation Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton, & Taylor, Ltd. Scholarship: $500 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Applicant must rank in the upper 25% of graduating class.
- Submit two letters of recommendation, one from a school staff member and one from a community leader, which addresses your leadership and character traits.
- Submit a 250 word essay describing yourself, your goals for the future, and how you arrived at this point in your life.
- A copy of your family’s complete federal income tax return form.
- Attendance at a two-year or four year college/university or a trade/technical school.

Lockport Woman’s Club/Four Year College or University: $2,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:

- Submit two letters of recommendation

Lockport Woman’s Club/Two Year College/Technical/Trade School: $1,000 scholarships
Criteria for applicant:
- Verify acceptance to a junior college, vocational or trade school, high school senior
- Submit a resume which includes work and social experience, out of school activities, recognitions and awards
- Submit two letters of recommendation
- Submit a copy of your official transcript

Michelle Ivanich Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Submit an essay (typed, double spaced, 500-word maximum length) answering the following question: “What are your education goals, and how would this scholarship assist you in achieving these goals?”
- Submit two letters of recommendation; one should be from a LTHS faculty member
- Submit a resume with the following information: Work experience (jobs with or without pay), School experiences (athletics, clubs, etc.), Out-of-school activities (church, scouts, etc.), Awards you have received, Hobbies and special interests
- The following criteria will be used as part of the selection process: Good academic standing with a 2.75 or higher grade-point average, Demonstration of positive role modeling in all areas of the applicant's life, Demonstration of servant leadership

Lockport Township High School Foundation Mildred K. Shoop Scholarship: $500 scholarship

NAACP Scholarship: Awards up to $1,000 to a graduating African American Senior planning to attend a college or university
Criteria for applicant:
- Must have a G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher

- Write a professional statement of your goals and aspirations
- Provide a student resume
- Submit two letters of recommendations

National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. (Joliet Chapter) Dollars for Scholars Program:
Criteria for applicant:
- The applicant must be a college bound high school senior
- The applicant will be attending college for the first time in the fall of 2010
- The applicant will be enrolled in either a two or four year accredited college
- Submit two letters of recommendation; one from a faculty member, and one from a community leader
- Submit an official high school transcript, documenting student's G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
- One 3 X 5 picture
- Submit a typed 400-500 word essay

Palos Bank and Trust Scholarship Program Award: $2,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Maintain a “B” average or above for seven semesters of high school
- Enroll at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university or trade school
- Write a 250-300 word essay describing the leadership you have demonstrated in school, extra-curricular and community service activities and your plans for the future
- Submit two letters of recommendation, one from a school staff member and one from a community leader, which addresses your leadership and character traits

PDK Prospective Educator Scholarship: $2,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Enroll at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university or trade school
- Write a 500 word essay answering the following question; "What has caused you to choose a career in education? What do you hope to accomplish during your career and an educator? How will you measure your success?"
- Submit two letters of recomendation, one from a school staff member, and one from a community leader, which addresses your leadership and character traits
- Submit a copy of your official transcript

Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship
Criteria for applicant:
- Application may be found at www.tzuchi.org
- Must be a graduating senior enrolling in an accredited U.S. college full time for the entire academic year 2009-2010
- G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher, un-weighted
- Submit a copy of family's 1040 tax return from 2008
- Submit two letters of recommendation from teacher, counselors, and/or other advisors
- Submit a two-page typed essay stating, "why this scholarship should be awarded to you?"

Thomas J. Lambrecht Scholarship: Scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $10,000
Criteria for applicant:
- Only seniors in the upper 33% of their class
- Submit a resume
- Submit a one page, 300 word, narrative description of yourself, emphasizing how you arrived at this point in your life, your future goals and how you will meet them
- Submit two letters of recommendation from adults (teachers, employers, pastors, club sponsors, coaches, etc…) who can attest to your worthiness to receive this scholarship
- Attach family tax records from the most recent year, combined income greater than $80,000 are NOT eligible. However, special considerations are addressed.
- Submit an official high school transcript
Note: The college scholarship shall include all areas of higher learning leading to a Bachelor’s Degree. Finalists for this scholarship will have a personal interview with the selection committee.
